Art & Alpacas! Join us for class outside where you can hand feed the alpacas. Block printing is a unique and versatile medium that has been used for centuries as a means of printmaking and textile design. Join Nina and Patrick for a workshop at Lulu's Barn to create an original block print of your own among the alpacas! You will learn how to transfer your vision onto a carving medium, carve the block and then use it to print a repetitive & decorative design onto a cotton tea towel to be gifted to someone you love or used in your home for years to come! Class if best suited to those ages 12+, as sharp carving tools will be used in the process. Please bring a 4 x 6" photo or an original drawing of your own of what you are hoping to carve (*please don't plan on copying artwork made by others*), plus a little patience and a lot of creativity! Bold, simple and beautiful shapes work best to start :) We're so excited to work with you! Nina Devenney and Patrick Ralls are local artists and educators, specializing in textiles, hand-dyeing, illustration and block printing, with a passion for the natural world and collaboration. Would you like to teach at Lulu's Barn?
I welcome collaborations with artists and educators alike. If you're eager to lead a class, feel free to reach out—I would be delighted to connect with you. During the winter, classes are held in the barn, and in the warmer months, we take the creative experience outdoors alongside the alpacas.
