Join our weekly yoga classes at Lulu’s Barn on Westport Island. We offer gentle Hatha, restorative Yin, and energizing Vinyasa flow classes for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
Pre-registration is required for all classes to ensure we don’t exceed capacity.
Our classes often fill up, so reserving your spot in advance helps us plan accordingly and guarantees your space.

Beginner Hula Dance
All Levels & Beginners. Bring some aloha into your life with hula dance classes! Hula is the storytelling dance of the Hawaiian Islands. In this beginners class we will learn basic hula steps and explore the meaning behind the mele (songs) that we learn. The kupuna (elders) are a treasured community in Hawaiian culture and aging gracefully while dancing the hula is part of this tradition. This class is open to ALL ages and levels.(adaptations can be made for varying physical abilities). Joni Thompson began hula dancing with the Happy Haole Dancers when she was 8 years old in Oxnard, CA. She most recently performed a Ho’laule’a (celebration or festival) with Hālau O’ Aulani in Arlington, VA. She has experience with Tribal Style Belly Dance, Samba, Capoeira, and Tap Dance. She is also a music teacher, board-certified music therapist, musician, and sound healing practitioner. This class offers a drop-in rate of $20 or the option to use a class card. A Gentle Yoga Journey
All Levels & Beginners. Experience a nurturing blend of gentle flow, restorative postures, and guided meditation in this 75-minute class designed for all bodies and abilities. Moving with intention, we’ll explore soft, accessible sequences to build subtle strength, followed by deeply supportive poses using props to invite rest and renewal. This is a space where options are always offered, stillness is honored, and everybody is welcome—whether you're new to yoga or seeking a slower, mindful practice. Leave feeling grounded, open, and restored. Jade holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health, 500+ hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and is a retired Massage Therapist with sixteen years of bodywork experience. When she steps onto the mat to guide others or herself, she believes it is a slow and loving walk to meet our truest selves. By tapping into individuals' inner wisdom, allowing each human to feel deeply, connect fully, and begin the process of self-acceptance and understanding of what it means to be human in an ever-changing world. Hatha Yoga + Yin Yoga
All-levels & Beginners. Join Deirdre for a calming and deeply nourishing class—an intentional blend of slow, flowing movement and grounding Yin postures. This 75-minute practice begins with gentle movement to open the body and ease the breath, followed by longer-held Yin shapes that help release tension and restore balance. Deirdre creates a peaceful, supportive space where students can reconnect with themselves and the natural rhythm of the breath. Her teaching style is steady, heart-centered, and accessible to all levels. Deirdre travels a distance to share her beautiful Thursday class with us, so in order to hold the class, we need at least 3 sign-ups. Please try to sign up as early as possible so we know it's a go. Registration closes 1.5 hours before class start time. Sign up early to reserve your spot. All levels welcome. Please bring your yoga mat and any props you enjoy using. Vinyasa Flow Yoga
This 75 minute class is a flow style class that connects breath to intentional movement. Through creative, mindful, and fluid sequencing, you will build some heat and then ease into slower moments to tune inward. A gentle foundation is set for you to choose your path, options for modifications are provided in addition to supporting intermediate postures. Alignment cues, structured transitions and breathwork guide you throughout, with an emphasis on building strength, concentration and a sense of calm. Open to all bodies and levels of experience. Alpaca Yoga

Yoga with Alpacas

YOGA WITH ALPACAS is held in a pasture among 5 friendly alpacas. Even if you have never taken a yoga class, Lulu's Barn welcomes you to experience yoga that is suitable for all levels and is geared towards beginners and having fun! Take delight in an enjoyable up-close-and-personal visit with the alpacas. Attendees can feed the alpacas right out of the palms of their hands and maybe sneak a few pats of their fluffy fur. Make sure to bring your camera; alpacas are no strangers to selfies. This is a 60-minute yoga class followed by a 15 minute alpaca meet & greet. Please register and pay in advance so that we can save you a spot and plan for alpaca treats. For ages 12 and up.

Yin & Sound Healing

Join us for a deeply restorative Yin and Sound Healing session at Lulu's Barn on Westport Island. Join us for this 90-minute class, open to all levels, and discover how surrendering can nurture and support you. We hope you can join us! Please, no class cards. Payment may be made on the day of the class using cash, check, Venmo or the Workshop Tab on the Class Rates page.
